Simon Says Challenge - Anything Goes

Simon Says Stamp

Good morning ! It's Wednesday and time again for another Simon Says Challenge !

I am hoping that Mr Blogger is kind and publishes my post for me as I'm out cheering for my gorgeous girl in a school swimming gala ! Keeping everything crossed they do really well this year !

This week our challenge is ANYTHING GOES.

The Design Team are this week showcasing Twine and there are so many brands of it in the store - check out the DT's creations to see what they have used !
As usual Heidi will be giving one lucky entrant a $50 voucher to her FANTASTIC Simon Says Stamp Superstore !!

I used all the lovely new Basic Grey "What's Up"  products for my card and also the new Hero Arts/Basic Grey stamps.

I stamped the balloon onto vellum and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I just love the effect this created and was surprised how well heat embossing worked on vellum too.  I heated it slowly so the vellum didn't all curl up.

We hope you can join us in our challenge this week and we look forward to seeing all your amazing creations.

Don't forget there is still time to join in our DT call.  You have until Saturday 2nd June to add your name to the very long list !

Thank you so much for your visit and have a great Wednesday.

Papertake Weekly - Dawny's Sketch

Hi everyone ! I hope you are all OK and still enjoying this beautiful weather we are having ? It's turned a bit cloudy here today but I'm not complaining. It was nice to have a bit of cool to do my pile of ironing in !!

Well, its that time again for Papertake Weekly and this week, we have one of Dawny's fabulous sketches for you.

The DP's are Echo Park "Country Drive" and these have all been machine stitched.

The image is by My Favorite Things "Pure Innocence - Jump For Joy".  She has been coloured with Copics and also paper pieced with some of the Echo Park paper.  I also used some twine for her skipping rope.

The rolled flower is by My Favorite Things too.  This one is called "Rolled Scallop Flower".  Now, if you have always had problems in rolling these little blighters up I can let you into a little secret !  Imaginisce have brought out this nifty little tool - a hybrid petal roller and believe me, its amazing ! I can highly recommend it.

The leaves I punched with a Papermania leaf punch.

We hope you can join us in our challenge today.  The DT have made some amazing cards for your inspiration should you require it.  Just hop on over to the challenge blog to see them.

I am entering my card into the following challenges :

Fashionista Challenge - Simply Summer

Kaboodle Doodles - Anything Goes

Made Especially For You - Paper Piecing

Ooh La La Creations - Make It Girly

Thank you so much for your visit.  Have a great Tuesday !

BasicGrey Challenges - Diamond Jubilee

Good morning ! Just a quickie from me today as the girls are waiting for me to take them to the park in town for an Olympic Funday and they are becoming impatient - don't blame them !

Over at BasicGrey Challenges this fortnight our challenge is DIAMOND JUBILEE ! You can interpret this how you wish with crowns, bling, pearls, Royal themed stamps, Prices, Princesses, Queen, King etc. etc. All we ask is that you use one BasicGrey product so that you will qualify for our prize which is a $25 spree in the Simon Says Stamp Store !

We are also holding a Guest Designer call !  So, if you would like to join us in the fun and become a Guest Designer with us for two challenges and can use at least one item of BasicGrey in your creation then please add your name to Inlinkz on the BasicGrey Challenges Blog.

Sorry about the quality of the photo.  I thought I would be quick and take a photo without my light tent.  It just goes to show just how good these are because I really struggled to get a decent picture.  It would have taken me less time to have set it all up !!

I used BasicGrey Urban Prairie papers which are really old ones but I just love the bright, vibrant colours.

The bling is from my stash.

The sentiment is from a Melissa Frances transfer which has been in my stash for a long time.

The crown is by Maya Road and I heat embossed this with silver embossing powder.

We hope you can join us in our challenge and we look forward to meeting our new Guest Designers.

Have a great Saturday and enjoy the sunshine !

The papers are BasicGrey from my scraps box.

I also used various scraps for making the letters which have been cut from My Favorite Things Die-Namics "By The Letter" dies.

The butterflies are both Martha Stewart punches.

The flowers are from my stash and probably from Wild Orchid Crafts.

We hope you can join us by adding your card or creation to our Customer Gallery.

I hope you have a super Friday and enjoy the sunshine.

Simon Says Challenge - Father's Day/Special Male Challenge

Simon Says Stamp

Good morning and what a beautiful one it is too ! Can't believe we have gone from wind and rain, having the heating on day and night to 25 degrees plus ! No doubt we will be complaining by the end of the week and we are all too hot !!!

We had a wonderful, memorable day yesterday. The Olympic Torch Relay came through our town of Trowbridge. I didn't really know what to expect but it was a super day and one I shall remember for a very long time. The girls thought it was "fab, way out and awesome" too so I guess that means they had a good and memorable time too LOL !!!

Here are a few photos I have put together :

We were so lucky and couldn't have chosen a better spot to stand.  The girls even had the chance to touch and hold the torch with the Bearer but I was pushed out of the way by the crowd when they were holding it so didn't manage to take a photo of that :(  Thank goodness I did manage to get one of them with it so that was the next best thing !

Wow, at times like this it does make you feel like waving that Union Jack high and proud to be British.  I can't wait to see the celebrations now for the Queen's Jubliee.

Right, now to tell you all about this week's SIMON SAYS CHALLENGE !

This week our challenge is FATHER'S DAY/SPECIAL MALE CHALLENGE

Simon Says Stamp

Thank you so much to everyone who joined in with our 3rd Birthday Challenge last week. It was fantastic to see so many of you coming to join the party :-)
All those cupcakes have left us with a SWEET TOOTH ,,,, so that is our theme for this week !!

make your cards/creations using cupcakes, chocolates, sweets etc  :-)

This week the Design Team are showcasing Faber-Castell products. If you have any of their products we would love to see them in your projects this week but its not necessary to join in :-)

AND

Faber-Castel will also be giving a lucky entrant a lovely Mixed Media Sampler set and a 4 pack of Gelato's !! :-)

Woo Hoo !! :-)

I have had a tin of Faber-Castell pencils for the longest time and I have not even used them *blush* !  I just had to try all the other brands that were mentioned in blog world at the time but never got round to trying these !  I must say, although my colouring leaves a lot to be desired on this card, the pencils are gorgeous and I can highly recommend them.  They are so easy to use and the colour from the pencil picks up really easily with the water.  So, if you are into watercolour pencils, I can highly recommend these ones !

I used Versafine ink to stamp the image onto watercolour paper.

The image I used is one of the MFT a la Modes called "Birthday Girl".  The sentiment is in this set too.

The DP's are DCWV "Sweet"

The flowers are some Prima flowers I have had for a very long time.

We hope you can join us in our challenge this week.  The DT have made some amazing cards for your inspiration.  Hop over to the Challenge Blog to take a look !

I hope you have a great Wednesday and thank you for your visit.

Papertake Weekly - Cute, Cute, Cute !

Good morning ! I hope you all had a good Bank Holiday weekend and managed to keep dry ! We had a lovely time and it was made a lot nicer by the fact that the hubster was home for most of it. He took the girls swimming and we loaded the girls bikes up in the car and took a stroll/ride along the river in Bradford on Avon on Sunday which was lovely.  It was so nice to see a bit of sunshine for a change !

So, here we are again, Tuesday and its time of Papertake Weekly !  Our challenge this week is "Cute, Cute, Cute" which should be really easy peasy for you all !  We are being sponsored by The Stamp Fairy this week.

The DP's I used are My Mind's Eye "Love Me".  I just adore these papers !  These have all been machine stitched.

The image is by Lilli of the Valley "Milly Cuddle Time" and this little cutie has been coloured with Copics.

The little sentiment at the bottom is the new American Crafts Dear Lizzy Roller Date Stamp.  This is great and prints really well.  I just love the line of little hearts and dots too - so cute !

The ribbon is from my stash and the brad is again American Crafts Amy Tangerine Sketchbook

The corners were punched from an EK Success photo corner punch which I have had lurking in a drawer since time began I think !

This week our theme is "All Wired Up" i.e. using wire or chain in your creation !

Take a look at the DT's creations on the La La Land Crafts Blog, they have some marvellous examples for you !

I used La La Land "Dress Up Marci" and coloured her with Copics.  A full list of the colours I used can be found on the La La Land Crafts blog.

The sentiments are Melissa Frances transfers

For the "wire" part I threaded some beads onto a piece of wire and threaded it through the card to make a necklace.  I also think the gorgeous pin that my Simon Says Stamp teamie, Mandy, made me will count too !
