Welcome to another BasicGrey Challenge ! This week we have an Inspiration Challenge for you.

Take a look at this gorgeous photo. We would like you to take inspiration from it, so it can be anything from patterns, shapes, colours even textures, let your imagination run wild and have fun interpreting the photo.

I took inspiration from the colours in this photo and the warm, cozy, clean feeling of it BUT I did end up earning myself the title of "Numptie of the Week" with my card ! Can you see why ?

When I saw the photo I knew exactly what papers I would use for this card and also which image. I have just bought these papers and I've been dying to use them and this project was perfect. I also adore this Sarah Kay image, I just find it so warm and cozy.

I made my card and was thrilled with the end result, took a photo and loaded it onto my computer only to remember that my card was my DT card for BasicGrey Challenges and the only item of BasicGrey that appears on this card is the Wassail button I used and that was only a fluke because it was the right colour !!

I suppose in the end it turned out to be a good thing because it hightlights the fact that you only need to use one item of BasicGrey on your creation no matter how small it is so no excuse to join our challenge ! hehehehe

The DP's are Cosmo Cricket "Everafter" and I got my sewing machine out for this one too. Still need lots and lots of practise !!

The image is by Sarah Kay "My Sweet Lili" and she has been coloured with ProMarkers, cut with label nesties and the edges inked with Antique Linen distress ink.

Colours : Skin - ivory, blush, Copics E00 and E01. Hair - cinnamon, cocoa, umber. Dress and bow - apple and forest green. Bear - cinnamon and cocoa. Bear's dress - gold and pastel beige. Ball - cornflower.

The flowers are Hero Arts and the leaves are punched with a Woodware leaf punch. The pearls are from my stash.

The lace and jute are from my stash.

The button is a BasicGrey Wassail button.

The sentiment is by Penny Black.

The rest of the DT's cards and layout are absolutely amazing and you must hop over to BasicGrey Challenges to have a look at them and if possible, leave them a lovely comment.

We look forward to seeing what inspiration you take from this gorgeous photo.

Thank you for your visit and for any comments you leave. I am sorry for my lack of blogging over the past week or so. I am slowly getting myself together after my holiday and after a few extra days of rest, my mojo is also making a come back (little tinker wouldn't unpack its case no matter how much persuasion !!).

Have a great Saturday and thank's for looking !

  14. It is absolutely stunning, Jo! Don't you know, you aren't suppose to tell us when you flub up, hun...just make like you meant to do it like that all a long and no one is the wiser,*wink*!!! But you are right you proved a very good point...you only need one very small BG item to play along..like a button,he, he, he! OK enough ribbing,smile...it is just gorgeous and I love those papers too...yummy, love the sweet SK image and your sewing is the perfect touch!!!!
Now, I checked and good thing, I don't have "I heart recess" tattooed on my butt...but no sign of that wayward rub-on...just thought I would update you on my flub up,ROFL!
