Simon Says Challenge

Don't forget to enter my BasicGrey Blog Candy ! All you have to do is CLICK HERE !

Good morning ! Well, I think I have just about recovered from all the excitement of the weekend now I just need to get rid of my addiction to Facebook. I've been avoiding it like the plague up until now and now I know why. I keep going back and forth to see how much my strawberries, elephants and fig tree have grown in the last few minutes !!!! I even interrupted my lunch to harvest some crop or other !!!

We have some huge thank you's to say at Simon Says Challenge to all you fantastic crafters out there who helped us succeed in our challenge to get over 200 entries - yes, we did it ! Thank you sooo much. I wonder if we can get over 300 this week ;o) !!! (perhaps I shouldn't have put that, it will give Lorraine ideas !!!).

This week we have a colour combo for you. RED and GREEN.

I was so tempted to make a Christmas card but managed to pull myself back from the Christmas papers and decided to use some old Magnolia stamps instead and make a boy's birthday card (ones I am always in desperate need of even though I love making them - weird I know !).

The base card is black Bazzill

The DP's are the fabby Cosmo Cricket "The Boyfriend".

All the stamps are by Magnolia and have been coloured with ProMarkers

The twine, ribbon and button are from my stash.

The sentiment is a Melissa Frances transfer.

Both the Magnolia stamps and Melissa Frances transfers can be bought from Simon Says Stamp.

We have a fantastic, very talented Designer in the Spotlight this week, my fellow BasicGrey Challenges teamie Tara Godfrey of Inking on the Edge. This gorgeous lady's creations just take your breath away and the card she has made for us this week is no exception. Please take time to pay her a visit and look around her fantastic blog.

Heidi is very generously giving away another $25 P&P free shopping spree to the lucky winner and also some of the DT members have hidden candy for you to win.

Thank you so much for your visit and for any comments you may leave. I look forward to see your fabulous creations for this week's challenge.

Hugs to you all,

Ally Pally and Pumpkin Emma

Good evening !

Well, what a fantastic weekend I have had ! It was my first time ever time at Ally Pally and my goodness did I enjoy it ! The shopping was fantastic but the highlight of my life was meeting these wonderful girls who, like it or not, are now my friends for life !!! Here we all are having the time of our lives.

From left to right : Me, Kim Costello, Chris Dark, Kim Dellow

Kim, Caz, Marlene, Bev and Me

Kim, Kim, Chris, Debby, Jacqui and Me

Me, Marlene, Chris, Caz, Kim and Kim

I would like to say a huge, huge thank you to "Babe" Kim, Kim and Chris for making our day so special and one I shall remember for the rest of my life. This isn't the end though, oh no, we shall be hitting the NEC in Birmingham in November so if you fancy meeting up with us then please email any one of us and we can arrange a rendevous ! We will have an extra buddy joining us in November and that will be my gorgeous friend Tara who sadly couldn't make it to Ally Pally.

On Friday, to steady my nerves and ease my excitement I made a card from some new yummy CC Design stamps.

The DP's are from a kit called "Harvest Time" designed by Krista of "Designs by Krista"

The whole image I made took some time and for me, skill ! There was a lot of masking involved ! I used the Sugarplum Spooky Scenery set which consisted of the fence, moon, cloud, bat and grass (and also has others which I didn't use) and also Pumpkin Emma. I coloured it all with ProMarkers with exception to the dark sky which is black soot distress ink.

The ribbon is from my stash.

The leaves are a Quickutz die.

I had loads of fun making this card although the image turned out rather large !

Early night for me tonight. I haven't slept properly for 3 nights, the first two with anticipation and last night because I had so many ideas and thoughts going round in my head ! I think I shall just zonk tonight !!!

Thank you for your visit and for any comments you leave, they mean so much.

GDT Card of Quixotic Paperie

Don't forget to enter my BasicGrey Blog Candy ! All you have to do is CLICK HERE !

Good morning ! a bright and sunny one it is too and guess what ? Only 1 more sleep til Ally Pally - yeee hawww ! It's like waiting for Father Christmas to arrive !!!

As you may remember, I was invited by the lovely Elaine of Quixotic Paperie to be "Miss September/part October" Guest Designer. Here is another card I have made from my lovely DT box of goodies !

I was so pleased when I saw this little chap lying in the bottom of the box. I just love all the CC Design stamps and this was one particular one I had had my eye on !

The base card is Bazzill Kraft.

The DP's are October Afternoon "Cherry Hill" and some red card and corrugated card I found in my stash.

The image is CC Designs "School Puppy" and he has been coloured with ProMarkers (caramel, cinnamon, ruby, cardinal red, apple, marsh green, almond and cool grey 2). I put some glossy accents on the apple. Quixotic Paperie has a large selection of CC Design Stamps in fact, too many to choose from as they are all sooo delish !!
The ribbons are Anita's and are a perfect match for this paper.

The paperclip and token (which says "Journey") are from my lovely blogging buddy Lorraine.

Now speaking of Lorraine, she has set us DT girls a quest over at Simon Says Challenge and that quest is no mean feat ! She would like to see if we can get 200 or more entries this week in our challenge !! She doesn't ask for much, does she ?

Anyway, its a very easy challenge as we want to see some stitching in your creations whether it be by dreaded sewing machine or a nice black or white pen or whatever colour you choose !! Don't forget you can combine our challenge with all the other ones out there and I bet if you look at your cards, you will see that you are adding that bit of stitching without even thinking about it - right ? I am hoping that you can please, please help us to succeed in our quest.

Right, enough pleading and off to pack my bag for tomorrow !

Take care everyone and have a fantastic weekend. Thank you for your visit and for any comments you may leave. They really do mean so much to me.

Hugs to all,

Colour Create Challenge

Don't forget to enter my BasicGrey Blog Candy ! All you have to do is CLICK HERE !

I really must learn to read the challenges properly, I am on the Design Team after all ! The colour combo this week is Hot Pink, Dusky Pink and Ice Chocolate. Now when I read this upcoming challenge my brain said "brown and pink" so I used brown and pink ! I suppose I have got the dusky pink in there and when I see brown I automatically think of chocolate anyway, whatever the shade ! All that is missing is the HOT pink but I think you can forgive me for that one. At least I remembered the swirls and pearls this week ! hehehe!

So now you know the colour combo for this week and the optional extra is swirls and pearls - gorgeous challenge for you.

The rest of the DT's cards and creations are absolutely stunning and the rest of my teamies are such an inspiration - such very talented laydees !

The base card is Bazzill Kraft.

The brown card is Core'dinations.

The DP's are K&Company "Classic K"

The image is from the Sugar Nellie Autumn kit. This kit is absolutely gorgoeous, the images are just stunning and I can't wait to use them all. I have of course used my trusty ProMarkers. I've just got up to find the pens only to find I've been super efficient and put them all away ! Sorry ! I do know her coat has been coloured with the new ProMarkers Dusky Pink and Burgundy and her trousers in Chestnut.

The swirls around the outside are from an Inkadinkado stamp my lovely friend and teamie Rica sent to me earlier in the week with some fabby images for me to try my hand at too - thank's again darlin !

I also stamped the same swirls underneath the flowers. These have been punched from an EK Success retro flower punch and daisy punch and pearls from Quixotic Paperie added to the centres.

The ribbon is from my stash.

The sentiment is a Melissa Frances transfer.

Please hop over and have a look at my teamie's creations this week and we look forward to seeing your fabby creations too !

Only 2 more sleeps til Ally Pally on Saturday ! I'm so excited. I have been let out on good behaviour ! and I'm meeting up with some of my lovely blogging buddies and teamies. Can't wait to meet you girls !

Hope you all have a great day. Thank you for your visit and for any comments you leave.

Hugs,

Simon Says Challenge

Don't forget to enter my BasicGrey Blog Candy ! All you have to do is CLICK HERE !

What a great response we had to our receipe challenge last week - fun wasn't it ?!!

This week, we want to see you "all stitched up" !!! This can be real or faux stitching just so long as we can see some stitching in your creations.

Also this week, we have two very special announcements to make :-

Please welcome our Designer in the Spotlight who this week is Greta. Greta is only 11 years old and what talent she has ! We are so pleased to be able to show her off to you ! There are more details about Greta on the Simon Says Challenge Blog.

Also, we would like to give a very, very warm welcome to a new Design Team Member. We are so lucky and honoured to welcome Kim onto our DT. I have worked with Kim before and its an absolute pleasure and I'm so pleased to be working with her again - welcome to the team Kim !!

Now as today is the start of the Autumn Equinox (so I read somewhere last night !!!) I thought it would be fitting to make a Halloween card and I was also dying (no pun intended !!) to use some of the new BasicGrey Eerie papers Heidi had sent me in a DT pack along with some other spooky goodies !

The DP's are BasicGrey, Eerie, Tombstone (this was double sided and I have used both sides for you to see).

The image is of course Tilda and she has been coloured with ProMarkers.

Colours : Skin - ivory, blush and Copic E01. Hair - tan, cinnamon and chestnut. Clothes - plum, pumpkin, burnt orange, bright green. Boots - warm grey 5 and black. Spider - warm grey 4.

I inked the edges of the image with spiced marmalade and black soot distress inks and added some faux stitching with a gold and black pen.

The ghosts are from Quixotic Paperie - fab aren't they ?

The word "Spooky" is from an Inkadinkado clear stamp set sent to me by Heidi and this has been stamped in Cactus Stazon ink and edged with black soot distress ink.

The dew drops were also from Heidi.

The rest of the DT have been so busy and made stunning creations for you this week. Please go over and see what they have been up to and pay them a visit and leave them some lovely comments. You never know, you may even find some blog candy on your travels !!

We look forward to seeing your creations.

Thank you for your visit and for any comments you leave.

Don't forget that the blog hop over at Quixotic Paperie finishes today so be quick to join in !

Well, I can't believe another fortnight has just flown by - where on Earth does the time go ? Your inspirations from the photograph last time were amazing and all so different too, they were such a pleasure to look at.

This week, we have another enjoyable challenge for you - Embossing ! This can be dry embossing, heat embossing or any other form of embossing you can think of !! Don't forget you could be in with a chance of winning all those scrummy BasicGrey goodies !

I just knew when I saw this challenge that I had to use my new Quickutz goodies which I received during the week. I have been after these leaf die cuts for months and even had an order placed with an online craft store for them and after waiting for 6 months I was just about to give up when a few blogging buddies suggested I try Scrapbuggy in the USA for them and guess what ? They arrived within a week ! I can't believe I have waited for soooo long !! In fact, my refund from the online craft store took longer than these dies took to order and arrive and even then it wasn't plain sailing and I had to get "huffy" to get my refund properly !

Never mind, I had fun playing in the end !

The base card is Bazzill kraft.

The DP's are BasicGrey "Mellow".

The brown, orange, green and gold card are Core'dinations.

I embossed the bottom panel of the card with my Quickutz embossing folder "leaves" and then sanded it. I then sprayed it with Harvest Orange and Gold Glimmer Mists. It looks very pretty in real life as the sanded parts have soaked up the Harvest Orange Glimmer Mist and are all orangey and sparkly. Very Autumnal.

The image is a fabby image which I love at this time of year from Toodles and Binks and these little chaps are called "Matthieu and Arthur". The have been coloured with ProMarkers.

Colours : Skin - ivory, blush and Copic E01. Hair - tan and chestnut. Hat and top - marsh green and pumpkin. Trousers - chestnut. Arthur - tan, cinnamon, cocoa and chestnut. Leaves - marsh green and chestnut. Lolly - Copic R29 lipstick red and Prismacolor Premier sunburst yellow.

The leaves have been die cut with a Quickutz cookie cutter die called "leaf shapes". I inked the edges with some brown distress ink.

The ribbon is from my stash.

The buttons are all BasicGrey.

Don't forget that my blog candy will be ending later today and I will be adding a new kit later this evening and believe me - you will definately want the next one !!

Hope you all have a great Saturday and manage to get some crafting time in ! We look forward to seeing all your embossed creations !

Thank you for your visit and for any comments you may leave - it's so kind.

Colour Create Challenge

Don't forget to enter my blog candy ! All you have to do is CLICK HERE !

Sorry again for the delay in writing up my post for this morning. It's Ski's 8th Birthday today and so its been a mad morning of card and present opening, school drop offs and visitors all morning with even more presents and cards ! What a lucky girl she is !!

This week's colour combo challenge on Colour Create was my choice and I chose Neon Green and Black with the extra option of leaves and charms. I made a card a while back with this colour combo and loved it. I'm not sure that the DT were too keen but my goodness, they have certainly come up trumps and their creations are amazing ! Some of them have even made two or even three projects with this colour combo this week !!!

This week's sponsor is Whiff of Joy and they have given us the Willow cathing Leaves stamp from their Fall Kit as a prize !

I gave my card to Ski for her Birthday today and she loved it !

The DP's are all BasicGrey. Lime Rickey and Lemonade. The image is the Manga Girl from Funky Kits and she has been coloured with ProMarkers.

Colours : Hair - mustard, sandstone, gold and cinnamon. Skin - ivory, blush and E001 Copic. Clothes - Lime and black. Boots - warm grey 5 and black. White gel pen for highlights.

The flowers are Bo Bunny ones (I think !). The little black flowers were orginally the same green as the black ones. I didn't have any black so coloured them with a black ProMarker.

The brads are Kaiser brads from Simon Says Stamp.

The leaves have been punched with a Woodware punch.

The tag I made myself and the sentiment is a Melissa Frances transfer from the birthday set also available at Simon Says Stamp.

The charm/coin I believe is a Tim Holtz charm. It says "wonderful" on it. This was sent to me by my mate Lorraine. Again, these are available to buy at Simon Says Stamp. The twine I also coloured black with my ProMarker.

The ribbons are from my stash.

The button was from my local craft shop and was originally black and cream until I attacked it with a lime ProMarker !!!

I also decorated the inside.

I hope you can join us this week. We can't wait to see your creations !

Thank you for your visit and for any comments you may leave.

Simon Says Challenge

Don't forget to enter my blog candy ! All you have to do is CLICK HERE !

Sorry for the delay in writing up my post this morning I had an urgent mission of some shopping to do after the school drop off this morning !

This week on Simon Says Challenge we want to see a taste of the Orient so the challenge this week is ORIENTAL.

The winner of this week's challenge will receive a $25 P&P free spending spree in the Simon Says Stamp Store.

The DP is DCWV Far East "Fire". I can't believe how far this one piece of 12x12 paper has gone ! I need to buy some more just in case another Oriental challenge comes up !!
The gold card is from my stash.

The image is a Simon Says Stamp Exclusive set called "Oh Happy Day Asian Flair" I have of course coloured them with ProMarkers. The dots on the girl's dress I have highlighted with a Prisma gold metallic pen which makes the dress look really pretty. The light I paper pieced and also highlighted this with the gold metallic pen. The text stamp was from this month's Craft Stamper magazine.

I made the paper beads myself from the same DP and then edged all the edges with the same gold pen. Wow, these look fantastic in real life and I shall definately make these again, they are so easy and look so good ! The rest of the beads and gold braid are from my stash.

I had so much fun making this card. It's not usually my cup of tea but the more I got into making it, the more fun I had and I love this card.

The rest of the DT have done an amazing job again this week. Please hop over and see them and leave them a comment or two. There is also some hidden candy on offer to on some of their blogs !

Looking forward to seeing your fabby creations. I do try and get round to see as many of your entries as I can and I'm so sorry if I don't reach you.

See you tomorrow for Colour Create !!!

I have also just this minute received my DT pack from Elaine at Quixotic Paperie ! My goodness, what a pack - full of such scrumptious goodies ! I can't wait to get started. I am "Miss September running into October" so I hope to show you something very, very soon.
