Simon Says Challenge - Time to Party/Celebrate

I hope that you all had an enjoyable Christmas with your family and friends. Ours was lovely and the girls were just so excited it was unbelievable !! So lovely to watch them and see their reactions. The main word in use on Christmas morning was "wicked" and that was from Izzy who is only 3 !! She was just beside herself with excitement !

Well, all the snow is now gone and has given way to fog and rain - yuk. It does seem very strange looking out the window and seeing green and I do miss the brightness of the snow. Even when it was cloudy, it was so bright.

Anyway, onto this week's Simon Says Challenge. This week its TIME TO PARTY/CELEBRATE and welcome in the New Year. Me personally I hate New Year's Eve, I always have done and we never celebrate it. We usually stay at home, watch a DVD and then go to bed. When it turns midnight we turn over, say "Happy New Year" and go back to sleep ! (we know its midnight because of all the fireworks !!!). What a misery I am hey ?!!

Here is my card which I'm going to take to some friends of ours today when we go and visit them as I know they celebrate New Year and will appreciate it !!

Our lovely DT member Domi has given us a template of a bottle card and you can find this on the challenge blog. The optional extras to this challenge are to use the template and if you have some, glimmer mist and glitter !

I took up the challenge of the bottle card which is so easy to do and of course the glimmer mist and glitter ! I took inspiration for the details on the bottle from "Cards Magazine" - wow they have some amazing cards in there and are a real inspiration and so I chose certain elements from a few cards in there for this bottle card which I personally think turned out really well, it looks great in real life !!

The DP's are October Afternoon "Report Card".

The label was cut from nestabilities "Labels 1" and the star was cut from nestabilities "Stars"

The calendar stamp is by Maya Road. I have had this particular stamp for a long time and this is the first time its been inked! Maya Road have a similar stamp to the one I used here. You can also buy the scrolls too which I used.

The numbers I cut on my dusty Cricut and I covered them in silver glitter which was from my stash.

I loved the way the "Say it with Pearls" had been used to look like fireworks. Being as tight as I am, I tend to cut these up and just use parts of them so consequently, I had a few different swirls left over in packets ! Here I have used black ones and clear gem ones.

The sentiment in the star is a Melissa Frances transfer called "Holidays".

We hope that you can join us this week in our challenge. The lucky winner will win a $50 postage free shopping spree in the Simon Says Stamp Store - how fantastic is that ?

Well, that just leaves me to wish you all a very Happy New Year. Thank you so much to all of you that visit my blog and leave me such lovely comments. I really do appreciate it especially seeing as the amount of blogging I do has reduced significantly in the past few months. I am not sat here with my feet up ! I am beavering away behind the scenes on personal commissions and also magazine commissions which I am so thrilled and honored to be part of as well as looking after the two girls who keep me running around more and more each week !!

I hope that 2011 is full of fun, laughter, good health, money for crafty goodies and plenty of mojo for us all !

Take care and love you all,

Simon Says Challenge - Anything Goes !

Good morning from a very snowy Wiltshire ! Yes, like the rest of the Country, we now have snow and lots of it too which we are all excited about but it has had its problems too. I don't think its going to snow on Christmas Day here but it looks like we shall still have snow on the ground which is very exciting and it will feel very Christmassy !!

We are still holding our challenges over at Simon Says Challenge and this week we have a very easy one for you ANYTHING GOES ! Yes, you can make anything you like, enter our challenge and be in with a chance of winning this amazing prize......

During the month of December, you also get another one of these !

That's a shopping spree of $50 in the Simon Says Stamp Store !!! What are you waiting for ?!!

The DP's are Cosmo Cricket "Mitten Weather"

The image is by Inkadinkado. I can't actually find the stamp now listed in the store but a very, very similar chap is in this set of stamps by Inkadinkado and he is the "Ornate Snowman".

I stamped him in brown ink and added lots of Stickles.

I also used the new gorgeous nesties called "Lacey Squares". Just love these and I think I might get the circles to go with them. They work perfectly with the classic square set.

The sentiment was also from an Inkadinkado stamp and came from a holiday tag set, a similar one you can see here

The flowers are from my stash and I added some purple pearls to the centres. The leaves I punched from silver card and also some vellum.

I also decorated the inside of this card with matching paper and lace and made a pocket as I'm using it as a Christmas gift card.

We hope that you can join us in our challenge this week even though you may be up to your ears in preparations !

I'm hoping I'll be back before the big day to show you another gift card I made but just in case I don't, I hope you all have a very happy Christmas and have a super, duper, fantastic time !

Thank you so much for your visit and for any comments you leave, they always mean so much.

Simon Says Challenge - Silver, Blue and White

Well, are you ready for it yet ???? ! I'm in a panic at this end but I'm finding writing lists everyday is helping. It's nice to cross things off it, gives some feeling that I am getting somewhere !!

Molls is finishing school today which is a relief really. At least I won't be running about here, there and everywhere. I can stay at home and do what I have to do !! I'm really looking forward to today's activities. I'm off to see Santa himself with Izzy and the pre-school and then back to the main school to sing carols in the playground to end the day and start the Christmas holidays. Wouldn't it be nice if it started snowing ?

Anyway, over to this week's Simon Says Challenge.

This week, we have a colour combo for you. SILVER, BLUE AND WHITE.

The DT are showcasing Penny Black stamps for your pleasure this week. Simon Says Stamp sell a huge range of these gorgeous stamps, check them out !

The DP's are the icy Echo Park "Wintertime". I think I may have mentioned before that these are just gorgeous and full of icy blues, silvers as well as rich browns and reds - love 'em !!

The image is of course by Penny Black and is called "Here Comes Christmas". I have coloured the image with ProMarkers. All the snow is glamour dust and stickles.

The ribbon is from my stash and the mistletoe is by Prima

The snowflake is cut from a Sizzix die and the sentiment is from my stash. I have also added some pearls to the corners.

We hope you can come along and play with us this week. Don't forget the amazing prize. Not only do you get one of these

but during the month of December, you also get another one of these !

That's a shopping spree of $50 in the Simon Says Stamp Store !!! What are you waiting for ?!!

Simon Says Challenge - Christmas but no red or green !

Well, there's another week gone by in a flash !

I hope you are all well and keeping warm. I must say that the novelty has now worn off and I'm fed up of feeling cold now. This morning though feels like a heatwave as its already hit 0 degrees on the weather station and apparently it could get up to at least 2 degrees today ! whooo hoooo !!!

Anyway, we have a challenge for you over at Simon Says Challenge to help along with those Christmas cards that still need to be done ! The only problem is, you can't use any red or green !

Don't forget that the lucky winner will receive a $50 postage and packaging free shopping spree in the Simon Says Stamp Store - just how fantastic is that ? !

The DP's are Cosmo Cricket "Mitten Weather" - just love 'em and these papers are perfect for no red or green !

The Angel is one of the CC Design Angels from last year and she has been coloured with ProMarkers. I also added some glamour dust to her wings.

The doily has been cut with one of the new MFT die-namics dies and so have the flowers. I have used the rolled rose and the rolled flower. Now it looks like the rolled rose has flown off the shelves again at Simon Says Stamp. If you keep an eye out under MFT in the store, they are sure to be back in stock very soon (they were there yesterday when I looked !!!)

The snowflake has been cut from a Sizzix die and I've covered that in glamour dust too. The snowflake border is one of the Sizzix Tim Holtz dies called "Snowflake Flurries". That sat still for all of 30 seconds so I covered that in glamour dust too !!!

The sentiment is a stamp from my stash.

I had great fun with this challenge and hope you do too. We look forward to seeing your projects. The DT have again done a wonderful job with their cards this week so hop over and get yourself some inspiration !

Thank you for your visit and hope to see you again soon.

Simon Says Challenge - It's Sketch Time !

Helloooo and welcome to a very chilly Wednesday. If you are one of the lucky ones and has snow, enjoy ! We seem to be the only place in the Country with no snow whatsoever, even the next town has snow !! I'm a big kid when it comes to snow so I have no nose pressed against the window at the merest mention of the white stuff !!

Anyway, to fend off the cold why not join us in our challenge over at Simon Says Challenge this week ? We have a very easy, fabulous sketch by our very own Domi for you to use.

The Design Team are also showcasing BasicGrey this week so if you have any BasicGrey products, we would love to see them but its no a condition of the challenge.

The fantastic news is that Heidi is offering throughout the month of December a $50 spending spree in the Simon Says Stamp Store - how amazing is that ?!!

I am totally in lurve with MFT (My Favorite Things) products at the moment and so I decided to use my new collection on my card this week.

The BasicGrey I have used are the DP's which are from the new collection "Marjolaine". Wow, these papers are yummy with gorgeous blue's, green's, cream and espresso.

The image is an MFT Pure Innocence stamp called "Merry Kissmas" and I have coloured it with ProMarkers and Copics. I also added lots of Picket Fence Stickles and also Icicle Stickles.

The flowers I made using the new MFT Die-namics dies which are just fabulous. My flowers aren't perfect yet (wow, you should see the ones their DT make !) but practice makes perfect as they say. The rose in the centre has been cut with the rolled rose die from felt. I have added some sparkles to the centre. The smaller flowers have been cut using the rolled flower die from some Bazzill. I sprayed them all with some Pearl Glimmer Mist.

We look forward to seeing your take on Domi's sketch. For some inspiration, check out the rest of the DT's work over at the challenge blog, they have made some fantastic cards again this week and all so different too.

Thank you for your visit today and for any comments you may leave. Take care and wrap up warm !

Love 'n' hugs,
