PaperPlay Challenges - Anything But a Card

I'm back from my holli jollies again ! The girls had 3 TD days in a row so that was a good excuse to get the caravan out again ! Not far again, only to a place called Woolsbridge Manor Farm which is next to Moors Valley Country Park in the New Forest and a beautiful area it is too.

We took our bikes with us and went into Moors Valley Country Park on Saturday to join in a family cycling quiz. It was only when we were about half way round that my hubby decided to inform us that the quiz was in fact 4 miles long ! Boy, did I have a sore undercarriage !!!

At PaperPlay Challenges we have another challenge for you - ANYTHING BUT A CARD !

We are being sponsored by La-La-Lands Crafts.

As soon as I saw Scout Marci I just knew what I wanted to make. Being the bad Mum that I am, I have failed miserably in sewing Mollie's Brownie badges to her sash. In my defence, the sash is so stiff that I had terrible trouble sewing the ones on that I did and there is no material to "catch" the thread. Everyone else's sash is lovely and soft so we must have had a duff one !

Anyway, I made her a box to put her lovely badges in and she is thrilled to bits ! I am a good Mum after all !!!

The box has been recycled, it did hold tealights.

The DP's I used are American Crafts "Campy Trails" and I machine stitched all of these.

The image is Scout Marci from La-La-Land Crafts and she has been coloured with a mixture of ProMarkers and Copics.

The letters are all American Crafts Thickers which go with the Campy Trails papers and the pennants hanging from the branch is an American Crafts felt embellishment which also goes with this set.

The "stamps" and metal "journey" embellishment are by Making Memories and are from the "Panorama" set which has been in my stash for a while now.

We hope you can join us in our challenge this week.

I am entering my box into the following challenges -

Scrap Creations - Anything But a Card

Shopping Our Stash - Recycle Something (box)

Try It on Tuesday - Alter a Box

Good morning ! Beautiful sunny morning here today and I've been up with the lark as Mollie is having fun day out with Brownies today and we had to be with Brown Owl by 8am !

I can't believe the time has flown by so quickly and this challenge at BasicGrey Challenges took me completely unawares, I was convinced it was next week this challenge was going live. I ended up making my card very late yesterday but the good thing was, I knew exactly what I wanted to do, I just had to bring the making of it forward by a few days !!

We have a lovely colour combo for you this challenge, HOT PINK, LIME GREEN and BROWN/KRAFT.

There are lots of BasicGrey papers in these colours and for your inspiration, the DT have made some terrific cards for you again this challenge and listed what they have used and there is a good mix there of various BG products in these colours. We are of course being sponsored by Simon Says Stamp again and the lucky winner will win a spending spree in their store of $25.

The DP's I used are BasicGrey "Sweet Threads". I have machine stitched these.

The sentiment in the centre is a set from My Favorite Things called "Four Point Frame". At the time of buying this I thought it was expensive but you do get a metal die in the pack (to make the jigsaw shape) and about 22 different clear stamps in the set which can be used with or without the die.

The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts

Simon Says Challenge - Father's Day/Male Card

I hope you are having a good week so far and enjoy your holidays (again !) with the kids !

With Father's Day coming round so quickly we need to get making those male cards so our challenge for you over at Simon Says Challenge all this week is Father's Day/Male cards.

The Design Team are this week highlighting Tim Holtz products - a huge range of which is in the Simon Says Stamp Store !

The lucky winner will win a $50 shopping spree in the Simon Says Stamp Store !

The DP's are Graphic 45 "Curtain Call" . Would you believe I used a lovely sheet of this on my card and then after I taped the edges with Tim Holtz tissue tape and added all the other details, I realised I had completely covered the lovely sheet of DP !!!

The Eiffel Tower image is from the Graphic 45 pad as are the tickets running along the bottom. The other image of the boy is a Tim Holtz stamp called "Hotel" which I have stamped onto Graphic 45 paper.

I also used a strip of film strip, a hinge clip , muse token and Vintage Photo distress ink. I also rubbed the edges with some Adirondak gold paint dabber.

The rest of the DT's cards are just gorgeous. Please hop over and take a look - great inspiration !

We hope you can join us in our challenge.

Have a great week and thank you for your visit.
