Simon Says Challenge - Anything Goes !

Good afternoon.  I hope you are all fit and well and enjoying the warmer weather !

We are all still suffering with this lurgy and I can't wait for it to go.  I have had a cold now since before Christmas and its really getting me down.  I'm eating about 15 a day to try and get rid of it but nothing seems to be helping :(  The poor girls are suffering too and Mollie ended up with tonsillitis at the end of last week so she was really poorly :(

On a happier note I've been busy making something rather different for Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine and you should be able to see that in another couple of months and I've had some time to make some cards just because I wanted to and that always feels good doesn't it ?

Anyway, its Wednesday and that can only mean one thing......time to announce our next challenge over at Simon Says Challenge !!

My Favorite Things - MFT Academy and Wednesday Sketch Club No. 108

My Favorite Things have started an "MFT Academy" and the super talented Inge has created a tutorial on colouring with Prismacolor pencils (you can see it here).  

Well, I adore Inge's work and I have a set of Prismacolor pencils here that I very rarely use.  To be honest, I do struggle with them as I have arthritis in my right thumb and for some reason I find using the paper stumps makes my thumb hurt so I gave up using them in place of Copics.  Anyway, I fancied a challenge so out they came for an airing !

I also decided to play along with the MFT Wednesday Sketch Club MFTWSC108 which is held over at Splitcoasters.  I rotated the sketch.

I used MFT Pure Innocence "Picture Perfect" and she was coloured with Prismacolor pencils.

The papers are Fancy Pants "Be You".

The hearts are MFT "Hearts a plenty" dies

The button is also an MFT die "Button Quartet"

I really enjoyed joining in with the MFT Academy and can't wait to see what they come up with next !

BasicGrey Challenges - Love Is In The Air

Good morning ! A beautiful, sunny morning and the snow is nearly all gone ! I must say, I am pleased now and its lovely to see the Spring bulbs poking their heads through and green instead of dirty white. 

It is that time again for another challenge over at BasicGrey Challenges. We have some news for you too ! We have a new teamie, Vicky ! It's lovely to have Vicky on board with us and we hope she will be very happy playing along with us.

I used BasicGrey "Kissing Booth" papers for this card, love them !

I used the Simon Says Stamp Exclusives "Falling Hearts" Die on the striped paper.

The image is just sooo cute don't you think ?  Its a new Simon Says Stamp Exclusives stamp called "Furry Kisses" and it comes with accessory and sentiments too - lovely set.  I coloured the image with Copics.

The heart banner is a Simon Says Stamp Exclusives Die called "String of Hearts" and I added some heart pearls

The little Cherubs are new Wplus9 stamps and dies.  "Cupids Arrow" stamps and Cupid's Arrow matching dies.

Simon Says.....Paper Piecing

Good afternoon ! Well, the big news here of course has been the snow !  We had about 5" in all which is a lot for this part of the Country.  We have found a couple of super sledging places to go to and the girls and their Dad have had an amazing time (I'm not brave enough to throw myself down a hill on a piece of plastic !)

We have also been hit by the dreaded lurgy and I'm coughing and sneezing everywhere as I type this !  Poor Izzy has been the most poorly and at times I've been really worried about her.    Hopefully it will make its way out of the door soon and we can get back to normal !

Simon Says....Use Washi Tape

Good afternoon !  It's a beautiful day here today, bright and freezing cold !  Looks like we might get some snow on Friday which we are really excited about as the Hubster bought the girls a couple of snow scooters when he saw them and they are sat waiting for the white stuff to arrive !  I have a feeling we will be playing with them more than the girls ROFL !!

My lovely friend Lols bought me my washi tape for a Christmas present and I love it, so bright and colourful and springlike !  It is made by Hampton Art is called KI Memories Blue Skies and KI Memories Smile

The die cut "You" is a new Simon Says Stamp Exclusives die called "You" (never !)

The heart was stamped in Memento "Cantaloupe" ink and is from the new Simon Says Stamp Exclusives stamp set called "Lots of Hearts" and they have matching dies to go with them although I didn't realise this at the time and cut mine out ! hehehe !!!

The cloud is a new Simon Says Stamp Exclusives die called "Talk Bubbles 2" and I have stamped the sentiment from a new Simon Says Stamp Exclusives stamp set called "You"

The stamping detail at the top and bottom of the card were stamped with a stamp from the new Simon Says Stamp Exclusives stamp set called "Just a Love Note".

The rest of the DT have made some amazing cards again for your inspiration.  I didn't realise there were so many different ways you could use washi tape !

Happy New Year ! 

 Wishing you all a very happy New Year.  Let's hope that 2013 is happy, healthy and full of exciting possibilities and opportunities around every corner !

We are off out to spend the girl's Christmas money today and then de-Santa-ise the house.  I do love putting up all the decorations but there is nothing better than getting them all down and having a good clean.  The rooms also look so much bigger, don't you think ?
