Winter Wonderland

That time has come round again that I'm tackling the making of lots of money envelopes for Christmas gifts.

I decided to make them a little larger this year.

To make them you need a piece of card measuring 73/4" x 6".  Score at 21/2" and again at 6", fold and you are done !  Just choose your decorations.

I fell in love with Heidi Swapp's Winter Wonderland Collection when I saw it.  The Ephemera is especially gorgeous.

The Design Team are this week showcasing Penny Black products.

For this week's challenge, as always, Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a fabulous $50 voucher for the Simon Says Stamp Store !

I used different card/paper for stamping the images for these cards.  The red card I used Neenah and the green card I used Ranger Speciality Stamping Paper.  I do like the finish better on the green card but found that the clear stamp stuck fast to it during stamping even after preparing the stamp !  The ink also took a while to dry.  The stamping does look pretty crisp in real life.

Pure Joy

My love for the new Memory Box Christmas stamps lives on !

This is a large card, larger than I usually make anyway !  It measures 6"x6".  I can't believe I used to make this size all the time !

I spent hours watercolouring this card but feel it was worth it, I love it.

In my paint palette I have Daniel Smith "Neutral Tint".  I find this perfect for "dulling down" some colours, such as the crimson and using instead of black, which can be too harsh sometimes.  I also use it for shadows and depth.  I would recommend adding this to your palette.

I die cut the sentiment a few times from scraps of white card and added the final gold layer on top for dimension.  

For the edges I rubbed the ink pad over the edges of the card and heat embossed with gold embossing powder.  A few sprinkles of Perfect Pearls Gold and a few gold sequins and the card was finished.

This card was pure joy to make and practice my watercolouring !
