Merry and Bright

What a miserable, wet and windy day - just perfect ! Perfect for getting all Christmassy and glittery !

So, surrounded by lots and lots of Simon goodies, a new toy and some new yummy papers, I got making !

I just love these Authentique papers, they are gorgeous shades of blue and "frosty" looking.

These little Christmas trees are a great size for small cards.  I made this card 4" x 4".

Again I used the curved A2 edge die for the snowdrifts which I have done before.  I machine stitched them at the bottom.

Onto my new toy !

I have been umming and arrring for ages about the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board as like most crafters, I have every scoring board ever produced and they are all stacked up and very rarely see the light of day !  After watching some Youtube videos I decided to go for it and I must say, I'm hooked !  It's brilliant !  I have so many 12x12 papers that I can't use because they are now discontinued and its such a waste but now I have found a use for them - pretty envelopes for my cards.

If you make even smaller cards, you can also use up all those 6x6 papers you have lying around !

I made this envelope from some scrap white card I had in my scrap box and decorated it using the Simon Says Stamp stamps and snowflakes from Lawn Fawn.

I also have a pot of envelope gum from Crafters Companion which I can also highly recommend as it bonds the flaps brilliantly.  One thing I am yet to try is licking it !  I'll keep you posted on that one ! ROFL !

Well, that's me for today.  Hope you have a great crafty day !

BasicGrey Challenges - Food and/or Drink

Good morning !

It is time for another challenge over at BasicGrey Challenges !

Our theme for the next fortnight is FOOD and/or DRINK !

Don't forget that you do need to use at least one Basic Grey product on your creation to be in with the chance of winning that super duper prize of a $25 spending spree in the Simon Says Stamp Store !

I used this great sketch over at Deconstructed Sketch (No. 123)

I had another go with the embossing paste !  Debby Hughes has really inspired everyone with her use of it and I must say, I love it !  It just adds that certain something !

We hope you can join us in our challenge and we look forward to seeing what you make.  As always the rest of the DT have some amazing cards for your inspiration.

Hope you have a super weekend even if it is a mixed bag of weather.  I'm hoping it will be dry tonight so I can take the girls to the town carnival.  I haven't been for years !

It's Wednesday and

Yes, we have a new challenge over at Simon Says Wednesday Challenge !

The theme this week is

Christmas/Happy Holiday

Yes, its that time again, Christmas is just around the corner !

Did you know that there are only 69 days til Christmas ?!!  I just knew you wanted to be reminded of that fact !!!

As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store!

Ooooh I had fun making my card this week I can tell you !  I had glittery bits and die cut bits everywhere !

I used the new gorgeous papers from Lawn Fawn "Peace Joy Love" for the background and also just had to try some embossing paste too with the new Simon Says Stamp "Falling Snow" die just to see what all the fuss is about !  Well, I can tell you that its amazing stuff and I'm really keen to use it again.  It is so smooth and easy to apply and doesn't take long at all to dry.

After I applied the embossing paste, I wanted my snowflakes to sparkle and so sprinkled some iridescent embossing powder over the top and then heat embossed it.  I would have used glitter but I didn't have any !

For the snowdrifts I used the Simon Says Stamp "A2 Card Curved Edge" die.  Who would think that such a simple die could do so much ?  I just cut some white card to the width I wanted and then moved the die to various positions to get that "snowdrift" look.  When the snowdrifts were cut, I arranged everything I needed for the front of my card, held all the pieces down with some magic tape and then put the stencil over the top and applied the embossing paste.  I lifted off the stencil and then let all the pieces dry before arranging them on the card base and raising the snowdrifts with foam tabs.

I hope that makes sense ?  I should have taken a "work in progress" photo !

These cute snowmen are by Lawn Fawn "Making Frosty Friends".  I coloured them with Copics.  I invested in the dies that match this set and I'm so glad I did, they are so easy to use and make everything a lot simpler.  I just adore those little birds (that I made into Robins !).

Well, I hope you are still with me ?!!

I hope you have as much fun as I did and we look forward to seeing what you make !

I am joining the Lawnscaping Challenge #67 which is Pattern Paper Craze (use patterned paper in your project).

Thank's for your visit and I hope you have a great Wednesday !
