BasicGrey Challenge #33

This week on the BasicGrey Challenge Blog......

"For this weeks challenge we would like you to use this colour combo :)

Black + Grey + 1

Now you may be asking what does the +1 mean, well this means that you can choose the third colour for your creation :), sounds like fun doesn't it :), now don't forget that you must also use at least 1 item from Basicgrey somewhere on your creation, so have fun and we can wait to see your wonderful creations and what third colour you have chosen :)

There is also a fabulous prize on offer too from The Cutting Cafe of 2 downloads of your choice !

Now I don't want to moan but when I saw this challenge, I did moan just a teeny little bit ! Seeing that you have to use black and grey in a creation sends me into a tiz and I have no idea where to start ! So sorry, yawn, yawn, you have yet another male card to look at today ! It was all I could think of !

My chosen colour was green (although the blue sky is rather prominent !).

The base card is black card.

The grey paper is from BasicGrey "Boxer"

The green card is from the Papermania card stack and I ran this through my "bubbles" folder in the Cuttlebug.

The image has been downloaded from Dustin Pike's blog - what a fantastic, talented man, check him out !

Hot tip time ! When I printed this image I had terrible trouble with my ProMarkers making the ink bleed no matter how long I left it to dry. In the end I remembered a tip I read somewhere that as soon as you have printed your image, you dust it with clear embossing powder, tap it off and heat it with a heat gun. It worked !! Perhaps it was the card I was using because I don't usually have troubles with my ink running.

The ProMarkers I used were, olive green, moss and marsh green (dragon) and I blobbed (very technical term !!) my blender pen over him to give him some texture of scales. Cocoa and burnt sienna (dragon), ruby and indigo blue (kite). I used faded jeans and white ink for the sky.

The sentiments are from Clare Curd's signature range.

The little buttons are BasicGrey.

I also decorated the inside of the card too

You must go over to the blog and look at the DT's creations, they are amazing as usual and really do put mine to shame this week. Still, I now have some ideas for the next time I see "black and grey" !!!!

We also wanted to share this wonderful news with you all, for the entire month of May we have a new fabulous and extremely talented Guest Designer joining us, Her name is June Houck and we am sure you will all make her feel right at home, be sure to stop by June's blog and say hello, and while you are there you will see for yourself just how talented she really is :)

Have a great sunny Saturday and see you back here tomorrow for Colour Create when I hope to have something pretty to show you (I still have to make it yet mind so don't hold your breath !! ;o) ).

Thank you for taking the time to visit me, I do appreciate seeing you and your kind comments.
