Snuggle

Doesn't that name just make you feel all warm and cozy inside ?

Here is my entry for this week's challenge on Passion for ProMarkers. I entered for the first time last week and thoroughly enjoyed it and just had to enter again this week when I saw the lovely colours that had been chosen (pastel pink and cool aqua) and there is a fabby sketch to follow too ! What more can you ask for ?

Here is my card :

The DP's are K and Company and DCWV Nana's Nursery.

The image is The Greetings Farm "Snuggle". Isn't she just gorgeous ? She has of course been coloured with ProMarkers.

The punch used is a Fiskars punch.

The ribbon is from my stash.

The flowers and heart are from a Hero Arts clear set called "Share Laughter" and they have been stamped with Hero Arts shadow ink in soft blossom. I just love this ink as it dries so "soft" in its colour and are just perfect with the Hero Arts stamps. The buttons in the centre of the flowers are Basic Grey buttons.

The sentiment is a K and Company, Brenda Walton sentiment which has been stamped in some un-named ink !

This little darlin' reminds me of Ski when she was very little as she has a rabbit called "Polly" who is just like this one only her's is green. We still have to take Polly everywhere we go. She has been to Greece and back a good couple of times and all over the Country !! I am sure she will be smuggled onto Brownie camp next week !

Thank's Crunchie its Friday ! Hope you all have a great weekend but I do hope to see you again before the weekend is up - fingers crossed !

Thank you for visiting and for any comments you leave. I do appreciate each and every one of them.

Take care,

Colour Create Challenge # 24

What a fabulous response we had last week to our challenge ! Thank you all so much for playing along with us.

This week we have the fabby colour combo of PINK, ORANGE AND GREEN and the added extra is "hearts" although its not compulsory !

This week we are being sponsored by the fantastic Crafty Ribbons and we have the most scrummy bundles of ribbons from them as a prize (wouldn't mind them myself !).

All the DP's are from DCWV "Nana's Nursery". These are such gorgeous papers and I think I've only ever used them for a baby card once ! They are so versatile.

The image is one of my all time faves. I think there is always one Tilda who you will love forever and this one happens to be mine. She has been coloured with Prisma's.

The flowers and leaves stamped around the image are from a tapestry set and I stamped them in Hero Arts shadow inks.

The flowers and tag were an experiment ! I went to Potato Patch Crafts last week for a fun evening of glimmermists, stampbord and embossing and had the most fabulous time, we made all sorts. The flowers have been glimmer misted and I inked the edges. The tag has also been glimmer misted, stamped with "Perfect Day" and then clear embossed. This didn't work out as well as I expected as the sentiment went all "blurry". Not sure why ! Perhaps I was too impatient and put the versamark on too early before the ink dried properly (that's more like it !). The brads are all from my stash.

The ribbons are from my stash.

The heart is a Bazzill chippy which I also glimmer misted (it's very sparkly in real life) and I wound some jute string around it to give it a bit of texture (as you do !!).

You have to go over and see my teamie's creations - they are absolutely stunning and have certainly put me to shame this week

We can't wait to see your creations this week and hope you come along and have a play.

Thank you for visiting and for any comments you leave. They all mean so much !

Simon Says Challenge !

Here we are, back again with another fabby challenge for you.

This week, our challenge is all about distressing. One of my faves !!

As usual, Heidi is offering the lucky winner a $25 shopping spree in the Simon Says Stamp store.

This week, I went the whole hog and got everything out, distress inks, paint, glue, hammer, nails !!

I started off with a 6x6 sheet of textured cream card and inked it with tattered rose and milled lavendar distress inks. In two of the corners I used a Tim Holtz mini mask of a flourish.

I then used a Hero Arts old letter writing stamp inked with walnut stain distress ink.

The two other stamps I used are by Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous. One is "Tattered Sparrow" and the other is "Take Flight". They did not stamp out too clearly mainly because of the textured card I think but I thought it added to the distressed look (well, that's my excuse anyway !! hehehe).

The heart is a grungeboard heart which I painted with tattered rose crackle paint and then when it was dry I rubbed milled lavendar distress ink into the cracks. The lock is by Tim Holtz.

The two hinges are grungeboard which I covered with vintage photo crackle paint and then rubbed walnut stain into the cracks. I then added some small brads and used a hammer and nail to crumple them !

The flowers are Hero Arts flowers which have been rubbed very lightly with tattered rose distress ink.

I ran a distressing tool around the outside, inked the edges with brushed corduroy distress ink and then stuck my "layout" onto a card made from Bazzill kraft card after also inking this card with brushed corduroy.

Boy, it was fun !!

All these items are available to purchase (or win !) in the Simon Says Stamp Store. I was lucky enough that a lot of these goodies came in my Tim Holtz DT pack a little while ago so it was great to have another opportunity to get them all out on the table and have a play.

We look forward to seeing your creations this week too !

Simon Says Stamp has just set up a group on Papercraft Planet and we would be so thrilled if you could join in the fun with us. To join, go to this link http://www.papercraftplanet.com/group/simonsaysstamp

We look forward to you joining us and keeping up with all the gossip and news of Simon Says Stamp !

Beach Babe !

I received my scrummy prize this morning that I won on Sketch Saturday a few weeks ago, 4 gorgeous CC Designs stamps from All That Scraps. I just couldn't wait to ink one up and so went in search of a challenge.

I am using the sketch from Sketch Saturday (fabby sketch again !) and a new one for me Passion for ProMarkers and their colour combo this week is Rose Pink and Lime.

Now I would normally take my photos during the day but I'm making the Passion for ProMarkers Challenge by the skin of my teeth !

The DP's are Basic Grey "Lemonade" - how can you have so much yummyness in one 6x6 pad ?

The image is by CC Designs and she has been coloured with ProMarkers - Rose Pink and Lime and Ivory and Blush for her skin.

The jute ribbon is from Bunny Zoe Crafts

The flowers have been cut from a retro flower punch and daisy punch. The dew drops are from my stash.

The sentiment is a Kelly Panacci stamp which has been inked with Stazon "Cactus Green". The ink was an impulse buy after I bought it from my local craft shop the other day after using it on acrylic with glimmer mists and it looked amazing. When I got it home I did wonder what I was now going to use it for but I am now so pleased I bought it !! It is an amazing colour !

Thank you for visiting me and for all your lovely comments. Ski was absolutely over the moon to read them all about her card and so was I ! Thank you so much.

Take care my crafting buddies

Skool's Out for Summer !!!

Yippeeee ! School has finished ! Should I be so excited after all, it's not me who goes to school !!!

I just thought I would show you a couple of makes Ski and I made last weekend for a couple of the teachers at her school. Can you tell which one of us made which card ?

I managed to contain myself when Ski said "oh Mummy, this paper is perfect !". With fingers in my mouth up to my knuckles I let her cut it up and use it for her card !!! I thought I was a very good Mummy giving up my October Afternoon papers to a 7 year old !!

The images are Teacher Anya from The Greetings Farm and both have been coloured with ProMarkers.

The ribbons, flower, brad and button are from my stash.

Off for that well deserved cuppa and sit down !

Hope you all have a great weekend and please Mr Sunshine, show yourself to us !

Thank you for visiting and for any lovely comments you may leave. I know Ski will be chuffed to bits to know that you have been viewing her card !

Summer Wedding

Ski's teacher is getting married this Summer and she is so excited ! I know we usually get excited when we are getting married but I have never seen anyone this excited before - I wonder if she knows what is to come ;o) !!!!!

I decided this was the time to get my teeth into making a wedding card. I've only ever made one wedding card before and that was for two ladies so not your traditional type ! This one I would say is very traditional.

I took my inspiration from Eileen's blog - Ikki's Cuttlebug Cupboard She does the most amazing things with a Cuttlebug !

Here is my card :

I used linen look card from The Papermillshop and embossed it with my score board and the D'vine Swirls folder on my bug.

The hearts were cut from nesties.

The lettering was cut on my Cricut and I very lightly sprayed the lettering with silver glimmer mist.

The flowers are from Hobbycraft tied with ribbon from my stash.

The sentiment is a Melissa Frances transfer.

Now this card is too big to go in an envelope so after having step by step instructions via MSN from my buddy Lorraine who is an expert box maker, I made this ! :

The box is made from the same card. I covered the lid with some vellum which has quite large pieces of glitter in it, such a shame you can't see it in the photo because it looks gorgeous. The vellum is also from the Papermillshop.

The hearts and lettering are the same as the card and I also sprayed the letters with silver glimmer mist.

The pearls are from my stash.

The ribbons are from my local market.

I lined the inside of the box with handmade paper with rose petals and grassy leaves in it which I found in Tesco.

I am so pleased with how this turned out and I hope she likes it !! I love the simplicity and clean look of the white, silver and pale pink.

I didn't really decorate the inside of the card. I just lined it with good quality white paper and punched the bottom edges with my MS valentine heart punch.

--------------------------------------------------

Talking of teachers and schools, I just wanted to tell you what proud parents we both are. Ski came home yesterday with her school report and results of her Year 2 SATS tests that she did in May. In every single subject she achieved a level 3 which is over and above what she should be getting at age 7 and her report was absolutely flawless, not a bad word in it (a far cry from when I was 7 years old !!!).

Our hearts are bursting with pride, what an amazing daughter we have, we are so proud and just adore her - well done !

I hope you have a good weekend and please let the sun shine - I'm fed up of the rain now and it is so dark ! I had terrible trouble taking these photos and I have waited a couple of days now to take some photos and gave up in the end waiting for the sun to come out !!

Take care and thank you for visiting and for all your lovely, lovely comments, they all mean so much to me.

Colour Create Challenge # 23

Good morning everyone !

It feels so good to be back with the girls at Colour Create. It seemed such a long time seeing as we have gone fortnightly and I had to unfortunately miss the last challenge. Well, here we all are with a brand new challenge for you for the next fortnight.

We also have two pieces of fantastic news.

The first is that we are welcoming into our fold a new DT member. Please welcome Janiel from Scrappyjan designs ! Janiel is an amazing, talented lady and it will be an absolute pleasure working with her. Welcome to the team Janiel !

The other piece of good news is that we have a whole bunch of sponsors lined up offering some fantastic prizes to you all ! We are pleased to introduce Simon Says Stamp as a regular sponsor of Colour Create and Heidi has this week given us a credit voucher of $25 with free P&P for you ! Thank you so much Heidi !

Now onto this week's challenge.

The colour combo this week is blue and white and the optional extra is "vintage"

Here is my card :

The DP's are K and Company which I have distressed with an edge distresser and added antique linen distress ink.

The image is a Stamp n' Stor Art Stamp called "Victorian Woman" which I have stamped in Smokey Grey Versafine ink. I stuck the image to a piece of chipboard and when I added the crackle accents, as it started to dry and crack, it lifted the image off the chipboard. At first I was horrified and tried to stick it back down but then I thought it added to the vintage look so I inked the edges with antique linen distress ink ! I love the effect of the crackle accents.

The butterfly is a grungeboard butterfly which I heated embossed with a swirl and white embossing powder. I inked it up with weathered wood and faded jeans distress inks and added the pale blue pearls.

The flowers are all from Hobbycraft which I tied into a bunch with a piece of lace.

We look forward to seeing your creations. Please hop over and see the rest of the DT's amazing projects this week, you will be so pleased you did !

Have a great day and thank you for your visit and for all your lovely, lovely comments.

Hugs,

Now onto this week's challenge. This week we would like you to make a project with fruit in mind. It can be a fruity stamp, fruity paper, embellishments or even just fruity colours like red, orange, green, yellow.

The DT have come up with some amazing projects for this challenge - just take a look at the challenge blog for inspiration.

Here is my "fruity" card !

The DP's are Basic Grey "Offbeat" which I have inked with antique linen distress ink. I have punched the edges with a Martha Stewart Flourish Edge Punch.

The image is by Sarah Kay "Anyone for Apple Pie ?". I just love this stamp. She has been coloured with ProMarkers and Copics and I have cut her out with nesties and inked the edges with antique linen distress ink.

The flowers are a mixture of Prima flowers and flowers from Bunny Zoe Crafts. The beads on wires are from Hobbycraft. I have misted them with some gold glimmer mist.

The leaves are a Sizzix die cut from Core'dinations card.

We look forward to you being able to join us in our challenge.

Triangle Box

Good morning and a wet one it is too - I got soaked on my way back from school this morning

I was soooo surprised to see that I won this week's Sketch Saturday challenge prize ! The prize was either a set of stamps or 4 individual stamps from All That Scraps - fantastic prize ! It took me hours to try and decide which ones to choose !

While browsing I came across the All That Scraps DT's challenge which this week is to make a triangle box. If you are unsure how to make one, they have shown this link to a tutorial at SCS

Here is my effort !

The DP's are Bo Bunny.

The blooms are also Bo Bunny. I added some silver glimmer mist to them and also some Star Dist Stickles.

The brads, spacers and ribbon are from my stash.

I made the angel/fairy charm myself.

The images are from All That Scraps and are digi-images. The first image is Heidi and the second image is Gretel. Both have been coloured with ProMarkers and Copics and highlighted with a white gel pen. I also added some Star Dust Stickles to their wings - aren't they cute ?

I think today is the last day for this particular challenge but I shall be back tomorrow to see what the new one is. It was great doing something different for a change.

Oh well, on with the pile of ironing I suppose - sorry, very dirty word !!!

Hope you all have a great day. Thank you for stopping by and leaving such lovely comments, they mean the World to me.

Don't forget that today is the last day for my blog candy. See you back here tomorrow for the new Simon Says Challenge.

Happy Anniversary !

With DH's birthday over it is now our Wedding Anniversary ! We have been married for 14 years this Wednesday.

Again, it was difficult trying to think of a design for a male anniversary card but I love the simplicity of the Hero Arts cards on their blog and decided to go for "that look". I hope you and he like it !

The base card is from the Woodware kraft card pack I have.

The DP is BasicGrey Offbeat.

The flourish stamp is Hero Arts Heart Flourish which I bought with a whole pile of Hero Arts goodies from Simon Says Stamp. I stamped it with walnut stain distress ink.

The metal flower and leaves are Tim Holtz Foliage which I also bought from Simon Says Stamp.

The ribbon was from Cleo Crafts.

The heart charm was from Ebay and the other charm I made from shrink plastic. I attached these with jump rings to the ribbon.

The sentiment is a Melissa Frances sentiment from a set of her clear stamps. I also stamped this in walnut stain distress ink and inked the edges with weathered wood distress ink.

I also simply decorated the inside :

The blue card is Core'dinations.

The journalling stamp is by Little Yellow Bicycle and is great because you can change the corners to whatever suits the occasion and this one was "sloppy" !!! I also stamped this with walnut stain distress ink and inked the edges with weathered wood distress ink.

We had a great time for DH's birthday and it was lovely just the four of us celebrating. We had a lovely day out to Bowood on Thursday as Ski had a TD day, Friday we went out for lunch, had lots of visitors and had a takeaway in the evening and on Saturday he had his "Parrot" fitted in the car so he was jumping around all over the house like something possessed as he was so excited !!!

Thank you for your visit and for all your lovely comments. Don't forget to join in my blog candy, it finishes on Wednesday morning and I will see you back here on Wednesday morning for not only the draw of my blog candy but also the next Simon Says Challenge.

Take care and hugs to all !

Happy 40th Birthday !

No, not mine ! My darling Husband's !!

It only seems like yesterday since we spent his 21st Birthday together and now he has reached the big 4 0 ! Here is a picture of us at his 21st Birthday party ! Don't we look young ?!!!

Celebrations will be low key, he doesn't want a party. Instead I have bought him a "Parrot" for his car and no, it isn't the colourful, loud, squarky type, its a "must have" gadget (apparently !!). We are also going on holiday at the end of August which he really wanted to do as we have not had a proper holiday for some years. He would have loved to have gone to Greece but we can make it as far as Cornwall. If the sun shines and I buy him a pot of olives from Tesco, he can use his imagination, can't he ?!!!!

Here is the card I made him. It was a difficult one to make as he isn't into sport and fast cars and he has heard enough of Tim Holtz lately to last him a lifetime ! so I chose this Hanna stamp as he likes a good barby and not that he is a moose !!!!

The base card is from a pack of Woodware kraft cards and envelopes I bought at Christmas from my local(ish) craft shop.

The DP's are DCWV "The Green Stack"

The image is a Hanna stamp of Riley the Moose. Simon Says Stamp sells these stamps in their store. Riley has been coloured with Prismacolor pencils.

The buttons are BasicGrey.

The sentiment is a Clare Curd sentiment stamped with white Stazon.

The numbers are grungeboard which I have inked with distress inks.

The ribbon is from my stash.

I also decorated the inside and added some slushy writing later !! He loved his card and his Parrot !

Well, must go. I have a busy, busy day ahead.

Thank's for visiting and for your lovely, lovely comments. They mean so much to me and give me such a boost when I read them.

Take care and have a great weekend. Hopefully I will be able to get down to some crafting this weekend and make the most of having my DH at home for the next few days.
