Simon Says Challenge - Make A Gift

RAMBLE ALERT..........!!!!!!!

Well, just look at the state of this blog ! Poor thing is so neglected ! We have just returned from our holiday in the Isle of Wight. We had a mixed time, the campsite was awful, the weather was very mixed but we made the most of it and had a wonderful time with plenty of laughs along the way.

The Isle of Wight seems to be a place lost in time. Do you know they have a "Wimpey" there ? We also went to see Toy Story 3 in a cinema in Ryde. Well, this cinema is the oldest one I have been in for a very long time. They still had the lady with the torch to help you to your seat and it cost us £2.50 to get in. OK, we didn't have the full Dolby surround sound or reclining seats with headrests but it was fantastic and the kids loved it. It's also nice to read that I wasn't the only one who sobbed my socks off at the end and highly embarrassed the whole family !!!

Anyway, back to this week's challenge on Simon Says Challenge. We want you to make a gift. We have a very special Guest Designer joining us so please welcome Jackie and leave her a comment on her wonderful gift she has made this week.

My gift looks dull and drab compared to the rest of the DT's creations. I followed a tutorial on Splitcoasters and made a coaster mini album for my hubby. We took loads of photos while we were away so I thought me might like a little reminder of our hols. I won't show you the inside as its not finished yet, I need some more time to fill it up with the photos !!

The DP's are Basic Grey Basics in Kraft and Manila. I added some picket fence crackle paint to the edges and inked them with vintage photo distress ink.

The top of the kraft paper has been punched with a notebook punch from Stampin Up.

The "Family" stamp is by Heidi Swapp.

The sprockets and gears are by Tim Holtz and I added a game spinner to the centre of one of them also by Tim Holtz.

The clip is by Tim Holtz too !

All these yummies can be found in the Simon Says Stamp Store !

The brown twill ribbon is from my stash.

I have added pages inside the album ready for photos from kraft card.

The chipboard coasters are actually the card found on the back of telephone note pads. I pop into my old place of work every so often and they save them for me instead of putting them in the bin ! I just rounded the corners with a corner rounding punch.

There is a fantastic prize of a $25 P&P free shopping spree !

The rest of the DT have made some very inspiring gifts, please hop over and have a look. We can't wait to see what you make !

Thank you for your visit and for any comments you may leave. Hopefully I shall be around just a little bit more than usual !

Love 'n' hugs,

  10. Dull and drab, No Way!! I love it. It's a fabulous cover for your mini book. I love all of the distressing and fun Tim Holtz pieces. I can't wait to see the inside and check out your holiday pictures. Sorry your trip wasn't without problems but I guess that is what will make the stories later on so much fun to tell. What is a Wimpey by the way? That cinema sounds cool. Well, have a wonderful day!!
    xoxo, Christine
