Follow Your Dreams

A couple of weeks ago I decided to try out a few distress markers after seeing them being used and liking the look of them. If you are anything like me then you have probably tried every single pen that has ever been released and have bought the whole set ! I was very restrained this time and only bought 4 ! 

I used them on this really pretty Penny Black stamp which is how I envisaged using them. I coloured the stamp with them, breathed on the stamp and then applied it to some watercolour paper I've had hanging around.

There are some gorgeous shabby looking cards around and I'm loving the trend of gold sentiments so I heat embossed the sentiment onto a piece of vellum and sewed the edges shabbily !  I carried on the gold theme by splatting the image with some gold ink spray.

I love how this card has turned out and I'm impressed with my distress markers too !

The end of January is in sight and creeping up on us is Valentine's Day.   I've been playing with the new stamps and dies from the Valentine's Release from Simon Says Stamp.

There was a great sketch from the My Favorite Things Wednesday Stamp Club which I thought would be perfect to use with the new Floating Hearts die.  I loved some of the elements of the layout of this sketch so followed it loosely.  I missed out the vertical piece as I didn't want to cover up those fantastic hearts !

So, here is my card :

I love the delicate "Love You" die and it looks fabulous cut from glitter card.

I die cut just one of the hearts from the Heart Trio die and covered it in clear Wink of Stella which makes it all glittery.  The arrow is actually two arrows from the Simon Says Stamp February Stamp Kit which I inked with charcoal ink and attached to the back of the heart.
