BasicGrey Challenges

I am so sorry I am late with my card for this week's challenge. We have been out and about most of this week trying to find myself a newer car and that in itself has been a challenge ! I have had for the last 6 years or so a Daihatsu Terios and I absolutely adore it. I've looked at other makes but nothing compares so I've been trying to find a replacement Terios. Because of the recession and the fact that Japan are not exporting any new cars at the moment and won't be until later on next year, they are as rare as hen's teeth ! I'm not lucky enough to be able to afford a brand new one (if you can find one), but I managed to get my hands on a gorgeous baby similar to this one......

Can't wait to pick her up !!

We have also been potty training Fizzy and I'm sure you can remember what that is like following them around with a potty and cloth all day long and washing and ironing coming out of my ears !! Ok, too much info !!! I am very pleased to report that it has been highly successful. Well, I had to find some way of funding my new baby, hey ?!!!!! hehehehe ! (only joking !).

Anyway, onto this week's BasicGrey Challenge. My bezzy mate and fellow DT member Tara W gave us this photo for inspiration this week

The fantastic news is that Simon Says Stamp is going to sponsor our challenge every fortnight now so you have more of a chance to win !

The DP's are BasicGrey "Bittersweet"

The image is from the Sugar Nellie Autumn kit which I absolutely adore and every image is such a pleasure to colour. She has of course been coloured with ProMarkers.

The flowers are Maya Road velvet flowers which I bought from Ally Pally. I thought the room in the picture looked warm and cozy and these flowers were just perfect for warmth I think.

The leaves have been punched with a Woodware punch and sprayed with Coffee Shop Glimmer Mist which has a pinkey/orangey glow to it - gorgeous and very autumnal.

The flowers and leaves in the photo have a story attached to them too ! On our travels this week to find my car, we popped into a garden centre near Bristol for some lunch and have a look around. What a fantastic afternoon we had. The place was full of Christmas decorations which the girls loved and the look on Fizzy's face was a picture. She's 2½ and so all the bright lights and glittery decorations were just so new to her and she walked around just saying "wow" !! They also had pumpkin carving so we carved a couple of pumpkins and brought one home to make some homemade soup (which was delish) and then we had some lunch. While eating our lunch I was looking at the display the staff had created with pumpkins and these huge candle rings of autumn leaves and I thought how fantastic one of those candle rings would be for photographing cards with.

Anyway, I asked a member of staff about them who then dismantled the whole display so she could see if they had a price ticket on them ! They didn't of course. She asked if I would like to buy them and how many would I like. I said that it would depend on how much they were going to sell them for and she ummed and arred and said "50p for the two" ! Well, how I stopped myself from hugging and kissing her I don't know but anyway, I bought them and left her to rearrange the display !!! It's not the first time a shop has had to redo its entire display because I wanted to buy something in it which they don't stock !!!

Well, I'll leave you to hop along to the rest of the DT's blogs now ! Sorry if I've waffled on a bit today !

Thank you for visiting me and for any comment you leave - they mean to much.
