Now I don't know why but for the past few challenges the colour combos have been screaming things at me and this time it was black and white checks. I just couldn't think beyond black and white checks !
I made the black and white check background myself by colouring all the squares with a black ProMarker. I did contemplate weaving the background as Sharon did but gave this up as a bad job after a few attempts !
I cut the red and yellow circles on my Cricut and embossed them all with my Cuttlebug and arranged the yellow circles so it looked like a big flower.
The image is Hippie Anya from The Greetings Farm and she has been coloured with ProMarkers.
The flowers are Hero Arts flowers which were originally white until I coloured them with ProMarkers. The brads were also dark blue until I attacked them with a black ProMarker - so useful these pens, can you tell how much I love em ?!!
"Groovy" was computer generated and I cut the letters out and stick them on !
This week's challenge is being sponsored by our one and only wonderful Chris, Sketching Stamper - thank's Chris !
We look forward to seeing your creations for this fortnight's challenge.
Thank you for visiting and for any comments you leave. Have a great day and enjoy the sunshine !
This card is so fun! Thanks for the explanation on the flower; your embossing is perfect with the b&w background. All your fussy cutting for "groovy" was worth the end result. Cute card :)
